If you had told me years ago that one day I’d be holding a book I wrote on cannabis, I would’ve thought you were crazy. Then again, the majority of experiences I’ve had because of Kush Queen are pretty unbelievable.

I’ve always enjoyed writing; in fact, I still do. Contributing pieces to our Kush Queen blog is something I look forward to week after week. But writing a book wasn’t exactly on my radar. When I was approached by my publisher, Rockridge Press, about writing a guide on cannabis for women, I was hesitant but I felt I had to jump at this newfound opportunity.

Olivia Alexander, Kush Queen founder & CEO

This book is for all the women who never felt like they belonged in cannabis culture. For the queer individuals who fought to get us here through relentless cannabis advocacy. For the newbs, a.k.a the wonderers who enter this space with immense curiosity and enthusiasm. And, of course, for my fellow enthusiasts who finally found a home within themselves through this incredible plant medicine.

Basically, “The Essential Guide to Cannabis for Women: Everything You Need to Know about the Medical and Recreational Benefits of Marijuana” is my love letter to this miraculous female plant.

“Before you experience cannabis for yourself, it can seem scary or unapproachable. That’s okay. It’s normal to not know where to start. But once you begin your journey of exploration, you will discover a world of healing and new experiences. Now take a deep breath and let go of all preconceived notions about cannabis.” - Olivia Alexander

Frankly, cannabis is so much more than a plant; its story is intertwined with social justice issues and with medicine. A wellness tool for some, and a way to have fun for others, cannabis intersects with many problems that currently plague millions of Americans. With cannabis being as multifaceted as it is, but with a finite selection of literature on the subject, there’s a lot of ground to cover.

My hope is for this book to serve as a wellness guide throughout the reader's journey with cannabis. As we evolve so does our cannabis usage and needs. With that said, “The Essential Guide to Cannabis for Women: Everything You Need to Know about the Medical and Recreational Benefits of Marijuana” was created to be a referred friend you can check in with as those needs change.

Additional Topics Include:

  • Debunking Cannabis Myths
  • Cannabis and Mental Health
  • Fun Cannabis Recipes
  • Practical Applications of Cannabis
